This really bugs me. I always wear a seatbelt when I’m driving, but tend to take it off when I’m parking. I don’t need a constant irritating beep telling me I have my seatbelt off, primarily because I know it’s off and I’m not an idiot. Luckily, it’s easy enough to disable it in my Peugeot 107. Right under the drivers’ seat there are a couple of connectors, just disconnect the white one et voila – no more alarm when you’re not wearing the seatbelt.

The connector pulls out very easily, so if you find you’re using some force, you’re doing it wrong ;)

Footnote: this post is not intended for people who are stupid enough to want to drive without wearing a seatbelt. It’s for people who are smart enough to know when they should have a seabelt on, and not need a computer to help them decide.
